Skate Pirate Screen Prints – Richie Jackson

Deux sérigraphie Skate Pirate Richie Jackson

This new couple of screen prints is a double tribute to the brilliant Australian skater Richie Jackson and the music video Down the Road by the Nantes-based group C2C! Skate culture is truly a space for graphic creativity, where the worlds of screen printing and skateboarding come together. Let’s ride!

Skate pirate Richie Jackon is a professional skateboarder for the brand Death Skateboards. At 34 years old and now living in Los Angeles, he has truly forged his own extraordinary style. Far from skateparks and X-games competitions, he practices his Depression sessions on the streets: long free rides, playing with the carefree spirit of a kid, using the urban landscape as his playground. A true return to the roots of skateboarding.

In 2012, the electro/urban music group C2C invited Richie Jackson to California to star in the music video for Down the Road. It was an eye-opener for me! Both psychedelic hippie and a bit eccentric with his Salvador Dalí-style mustache, Richie seems like he’s stepped straight out of the ’70s. But he’s not just a persona—he’s a skateboard magician with more tricks up his sleeve than a circus performer! Benches, stairs, street signs, barriers—nothing stands in his way! Naturally, I was captivated by this extraordinary skateboarder who constantly invents unexpected, original, and spectacular tricks, like his Dream Trick where he rides the board upside down!

A few months ago, I contacted Richie Jackson to ask for permission to use his name. Here’s his response: “That’s awesome man. Appreciate that you made those, they look great. Definitely give full permission for you to put my name on em”.

Today, these two screen prints created by Zig have been printed at the Dezzig studio in 2 and 3 colors on 230g Fedrigoni Sirio Pearl Aurum golden paper (50 x 70 cm). They are available in a limited edition of 100 copies in the artshop.

You can watch watch the film shot in the Dezzig studio made during the printing of the Skate Pirate screen prints
